Monday 5th January - walks **** – Felixstowe and Falkenham – snow then sunny.

Walk 1 – snowy sunrise walk along Felixstowe prom.

The forecast was right and we woke to a light dusting of snow, about half an inch so I decided to head down to the seafront to catch the snowy sunrise leaving home at 7.15. I made it to the pier in time to see three hardy swimmers have their daily dip before continuing to the beach hut village waiting for the sea rise which only consisted of a small patch of red. I was keen to take some pics of the snow with the sun out so I set off towards The Fludyers going up through the Spa gardens and spotted what were probably fox footprints inn the snow:) The sun made it above the bank of cloud just before 8.30 and the sunlight onn the snow against a blue sky was just lovely so I carried on to the end of the prom at Jacobs Ladder. A strolled back hoping to see Mag out on her daily walk but sadly she stayed at home today! I made it all the way back to the pier taking snowy pics before returning home to send a few to the TV weather, sadly none were used :(

Walk 2 – Picnic and walk at Falkenham.

Mag and I then did our first big shop of the year as the cupboards were bare. I then packed a picnic and we headed over to Falkenham, it was a little chilly to have lunch with ‘Emily’ at Falkenham church so found a nice spot to sit inn the van with lovely views down to Felixstowe Ferry:) We then parked up at the church and did our usual circuit inn the countryside, the snow was a little disappointing as the light dusting had almost completetly disappeared in the fields but it was still lovely to be out inn the peace and quiet. I was getting knackered by the time we returned to the van, after all I had walked the best part of 6 miles today! So home for a hot water bottle with a cuppa and a Lidl apple puff, top day!
